The sending limit restricts outgoing email volume for a mailbox within the server policy. Raising it cannot override a provider-wide limit and does not authorize unsolicited bulk sending or fix poor mail reputation.

What you need before you begin
Identify the mailbox, current usage and legitimate sending requirement. Check whether the problem is an actual volume limit, failed authentication, a queue issue or a delivery rejection. Unexpected volume should be investigated for compromised credentials or a faulty application.
01 Adjust a mailbox sending limit in DirectAdmin
- Open E-mail Manager > E-mail Accounts and locate the correct full address.
- Open its action menu and choose Change Limits or the equivalent account limits control.
- Read the displayed unit and period for Send Limit. Enter an allowance within the plan and administrator maximum; do not copy an arbitrary number from another server.
- Save the change and record why it was needed. Review application retry behavior so a backlog does not immediately consume the new allowance.
- Test a small legitimate message flow and monitor sending over the relevant accounting period. Use an appropriate approved mailing platform for a campaign when shared-mailbox limits are unsuitable.
How do I check the mailbox sending limit?
Confirm the saved limit and check that legitimate mail is accepted for processing. Acceptance by the local server does not guarantee inbox delivery at the destination, so review bounce messages separately.
Troubleshoot unexpected results
If the field is restricted or the requested value is refused, contact support with the expected sending pattern. Do not divide traffic across multiple mailboxes to bypass policy. If usage rose unexpectedly, rotate exposed credentials and inspect applications before increasing the limit again.
