A block theme uses Navigation blocks and saved menus to help visitors move around the site. Create a deliberate menu, then connect it to the Navigation block in the intended header or other template part.

01 Plan the main destinations
Choose the small set of pages visitors need most often. Confirm that each destination is published and its label is understandable. Menu wording can be shorter than the page title, but it should still accurately describe the destination.
Decide whether you are editing an existing shared menu or creating a new one for a different context. A footer menu and a main header menu can serve different purposes.
02 Create and connect the menu
- Open the Site Editor and use its Navigation area, or select the Navigation block in the intended template part.
- Create or select the correct menu. Give a new menu a recognisable internal name.
- Add the required page links and any appropriate custom links. Review their order and remove demonstration entries.
- Ensure the header's Navigation block references the menu you intend to display.
- Save the menu and any changed template part after reviewing the save panel.
03 Verify the complete experience
Open the public site while signed out and follow each link. Check that a Home link leads to the actual root or intended homepage and that account or order links use the correct service destination.
Test the menu at a narrow width and with a keyboard. Confirm the mobile trigger, close control and dropdown behaviour remain usable. A menu that looks correct in the editor can still overflow when the live logo or translated labels are longer.
Why does the navigation show missing or unexpected links?
If a newly published page appears automatically, inspect whether the Navigation block contains a Page List rather than a deliberately selected set of links. If an edited menu does not appear, check which menu the displayed Navigation block actually uses.
Deleting a menu is different from removing one link and does not delete the underlying pages. Keep those actions separate. When reorganising established page URLs, update the menu and maintain appropriate redirects so visitors using old external links still reach useful content.
